Carried in the hand, in the crook of the arm or crossbody, Tsubi pairs curved lines with a sculptural silhouette. The hand-crocheted raffia forms an airy mesh, while the smooth leather lends structure to the piece, contrasting with the plant fibers.
The name Tsubi was inspired by the Japanese word tsubomi, meaning “bud”, in honor of the rounded, delicate, organic shape of the bag.

Natural, certified-organic raffia from Madagascar. Certified smooth full-grain Italian calf leather. Raffia is a particularly fragile material which naturally changes over time and therefore requires care and attention during its use and maintenance. To preserve the original appearance of the piece, take care when wearing it. Avoid rubbing anything against the raffia and avoid prolonged exposure to direct light or heat. Keep the bag away from water, greasy substances, perfumes, and cosmetic products, as well as from dark or new clothing, as the dye may bleed. If the bag gets wet, dab off the excess water with a soft cloth and then leave to dry. Do not overfill the bag. Store it in its dust bag and box.

Each raffia stitch is hand-crocheted by artisans in Madagascar. Passed from generation to generation, this technique creates a harmonious balance between the materials, with artisanship in raffia meeting Polène’s expertise in leather goods.
Each bag is packaged in the workshop. They are placed inside a protective cotton bag in a paper box made of recycled leather offcuts, which reflects Polène’s commitment to upcycling.
